Don't worry...I'm not passing over Thanksgiving in favor of some Christmastime tunes {even though it seems like practically every store skipped right over both Halloween and Thanksgiving to usher in all-things-December 25th}.
I was actually referring to the roofers who were hard at work {Saturday, Monday and part of today}, tearing off our old gutters and roof, and installing our brand spankin' new roof!

Tearing off the old roof. |

Bundles of Timberline shingles. |
|
Our old gutters...ready to be tossed into the dumpsters. |
|
Almost all the roof is off the back of the house. |
|
Our new roof in all it's glory! (Yes, we have a front door...it's just open from the electricians who are actually at the house working!!!) |

Another view. |
Keep in mind, this isn't the complete, finished product. Our fascia board has a few rotten areas that need to be replaced...then it'll be wrapped in aluminum...and we are getting new, seamless gutters installed.
Of course, we haven't even touched the landscaping either...except to rip out the crazy overgrowth that existed when we bought the house. Plus, we would like to replace the front lights, create a new pathway that is NOT asphalt, and on and on and on. But of course, all that will come in time...and after we find a money tree, that must be growing somewhere in all the foliage we have on our property. :)
But even without all of our "to-do's" crossed off the list...our house is still miles from where it was! Remember this?!?! Yikes!
A couple things that can't be seen in the pictures were the soffit vents, the ridge vent and the attic fan that were installed. All of these things will help our house breathe a little bit better...just like my hubby and I are going to breathe a bit easier knowing we have a new roof keeping our home nice and dry!
