One Week to Go & Random Sneak Peeks...

November 12, 2013

I seriously cannot believe I have only one week left of this program.  Now that I have reached the 23rd day, time feels like it flew by.  Past day 16 or 17, things became easy and almost automatic.  I was no longer paying attention to how many days had gone by and how many where left...things just became routine.

I fall asleep and wake up SO much easier than I used to.  My energy is present and consistent through most of the day.  My post-lunch and post-dinner ravenous cravings are non-existent or easily satisfied by eating a piece of fresh fruit.  I haven't had a headache in who knows how long, I haven't had an upset stomach since I started the program and my mood/outlook has greatly improved.  My irregular heartbeat that I felt quite often {I have SVT} hasn't occurred since I started this program, and dizzy spells that I would frequently get have not reared their ugly head either.

I didn't start this program to lose weight, but it's happened without trying.  I don't stop myself from eating "too much" and I haven't exercised for a single second...yet I've still managed to drop 8 lbs.  Yes, I know...they say don't weight yourself during the 30 days, but I'm not doing this for the weight loss.  I'm doing it to improve my health...so I have been weighing myself quite often since I took on this challenge.  Even if I didn't step on a scale, I would have know I lost something because NONE of my work pants fit me anymore...a belt can't even remedy the situation because the gap is too big.  It makes dressing for work each morning quite difficult, but it's a problem I love to have. :)

So far...this program has been TOTALLY worth it!

And while my life may seem like it's been all about food, I have been getting some other things accomplished too!!  Here's a little sneak peek at some in-progress projects I have going on behind the scenes {or not so behind the scenes if you follow me on Instagram ;) haha}.

Happy Tuesday, friends! :)

Busy Bees

February 22, 2012

Lucky me!  My uhhh-mazing parents arrived for a visit on Friday evening.  Part of their visit, okay most of it, meant lots of productivity in our casa.  With T-O-N-S of help from my parents {and two personal days off from work this week}, we were able to paint our basement walls, start operation purge, sand/prime/paint several pieces of furniture, re-arrange our washer and dryer set up, purchase blinds for our living/dining room and sew curtains for that same space.

I also had a couple purchases from Joss and Main and One Kings Lane arrive; and we played a small game of "let's re-arrange our furniture" in the dining room.

I can't wait to share all the deets with you guys! :)

One Day...

April 28, 2011

That's what I say all the time - one day... And so I thought it would be a perfect time to show you some of the projects I started on but haven't finished. You know, I'll finish them one day.

First up is this leggy table I picked up at a thrift store:
This is it in the store. I'm thinking it would look great as a sofa table, or an entry table, or a sewing table, or a buffet table, or etc. Yep, this little table is oozing with potential. So I sanded it down and fixed a few gouges in the wood. Then I painted the bottom part of the table with my infamous blue paint. And that is where I stopped. Here is a one-day-I'll-finish-it teaser pic:

Next is a lamp...another brass lamp:
I have a game plan for this lamp - spray paint and new shade. Well, I got the spray painting done and that's it. I haven't finished the shade yet. Want another one-day-teaser-pic? Okay, here it is sporting a new lime green color:

Then there is this stool:
My mom got a smoking deal on this stool and then I swooped in and snagged it from her house. I have some plans to make this stool chic. But, once again, I haven't finished it.

So there are three projects that I have started on and yet to finish. And if I ever get around to finishing these one day, I'll be sure to post some pictures.
